After growing up in Chicago, I earned a B.A. in History from Northwestern University, and a law degree from the University of Illinois.

I met my husband, Andy, working as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago.  We moved to Wilmette 17 years ago when our second child was on the way and I always looked for ways to contribute to the Wilmette community.   When my children were young, I volunteered in the schools, first at St. Joseph’s and then at Harper, where I served on the Executive Board, and eventually at  Highcrest, Wilmette Junior High and New Trier High School.  I also managed the Wilmette Wings, as well as many of the Wilmette Park District sports teams that my husband coached over the years.

Twelve years ago, my background in municipal government led me to seek volunteer positions within the Village. I was first appointed to Wilmette’s Historic Preservation Commission and was ultimately named Chairperson. Subsequently, I was appointed to Wilmette’s Board of Police and Fire Commissioners, where I was able to use my experience representing the City of Chicago’s Police and Fire Departments.  I ran for and was elected to my first term as a Village Trustee six years ago and was re-elected for a second term two years ago.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with residents, staff and business owners on the Village Board and on its Commissions and Committees.  I believe I have made important contributions to the Village and would be honored to serve as its President on behalf of my fellow residents.
